Orizon Renewable Energy Private Limited

Tadhamon Capital has taken a significant minority stake in a groundbreaking waste-to-energy plant in Sri Lanka, which has a 20-year concession (with a further 20-year extension) from the Government of Sri Lanka. Located on a 18-acre site, the plant will convert up to 1,000 tonnes of untreated municipal solid waste daily into clean energy and is expected to generate around 28 megawatts of power, of which 23 megawatts will be exported to the national grid. In addition, through the reduction in landfill and effective waste disposal, the project will be very effective in improving the quality of life, and reducing the health risks, of residents in Colombo. Tadhamon Capital is actively involved in the management and strategic direction of the project, with financial closing expected towards the end of 2015.
